  • 200 g Sour cream
  • 2 tbsp White wine vinegar
  • 1 bunch Dill
  • Salt pepper
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • 2 medium Onions
  • 4 Pickled cucumbers from the gals
  • 1 Big apple
  • 4 Double herring fillets
  • 750 g New potatoes

Instructions

  • Mix the sour cream, sour cream and vinegar for the sauce. Wash dill and shake dry. Pluck off the flags, chop finely and stir into the sour cream sauce. Season the sauce with salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar.
  • Peel the onions and cut into thin rings. Drain the cucumber and cut into half slices. Wash, quarter and core the apple. Halve the apple quarters and cut across into slices. Stir all ingredients into the prepared sauce except for a few onion rings and apple wedges. Chill until ready to serve.
  • Wash the potatoes and cook in a saucepan covered with water for about 20 minutes. Drain, rinse with cold water and peel off.
  • Rinse the double matjes fillets briefly, pat dry and arrange on plates. Garnish with a little housewife sauce, onion rings, apple wedges and a little dill.
  • Serve with jacket potatoes.
  • Fine-tart Pils and ice-cold aquavit tastes good with it.
