Ingredients
- 0,75 liter Water
- 1 Onion
- 6 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 0,25 ml Vinegar
- 2 tablespoon Mustard seeds
- 120 g Sugar
- 0,5 tablespoon Peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon Pimento
- 2 Bay leaves
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
- Bring the water to a boil, peel the onion and cut into rings with the spices in the water.
- Put the fried herring in an oblong bowl and pour the stock on it and then let it soak in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
