Ingredients
 

  • 0,75 liter Water
  • 1 Onion
  • 6 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 0,25 ml Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon Mustard seeds
  • 120 g Sugar
  • 0,5 tablespoon Peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon Pimento
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Bring the water to a boil, peel the onion and cut into rings with the spices in the water.
  • Put the fried herring in an oblong bowl and pour the stock on it and then let it soak in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
