Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 125 g butter, soft
- 1 egg(s)
- 1 egg yolk
- 120 g powdered sugar
- 400 g flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp, leveled baking soda
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 egg white
- e.g. powdered sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 8 hours 45 minutes
First, mix the butter with the egg, egg yolk, and powdered sugar. Then sift in the flour. Add the cinnamon, baking soda, and honey and knead everything with a dough hook. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for about 1 hour. After the dough has cooled, roll it out thinly on a floured surface, cut out the desired shape, and place it on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Leave enough space between the cookies, as the baking soda causes them to rise. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes at 175°C (top/bottom heat) until lightly browned. Beat the egg whites until stiff and mix with the powdered sugar to form a not-too-stiff mixture. Decorate the cooled cookies with the egg white and sugar mixture and let them dry overnight. Finally, bake the cookies for another 3 minutes at 225°C (top/bottom heat).
