Honey-Glazed Ham

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 ½ kg ham, cooked, mildly cured
  • 1 handful of cloves
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 300 ml honey
  • 100 g butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 55 minutes

Honey ham

Preheat oven to 165°C (325°F). Score the ham crosswise on the fat side and stud it with cloves. Place it in a dish lined with aluminum foil. Melt the butter, maple syrup, and honey in a small saucepan. Bake the ham for about 75 to 90 minutes, brushing with the warm honey mixture every 15 minutes. Finally, brown the crust under the broiler or increase the oven temperature to 200°C (400°F) for 5 to 10 minutes to caramelize the honey.
