Hot Plate Beef
The perfect hot plate beef recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 200 g Beef
- 2 tsp Sesame oil
- 0,5 tsp Ginger
- 1 tbsp Chopped garlic
- 6 tbsp Soy sauce
- 6 tbsp Water
- 3 tbsp Brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Cornstarch
- 2 piece Spring onions
- Oil for frying
- Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the garlic and ginger
- Deglaze with the soy sauce and water.
- Add the brown sugar and cook for about 2 – 3 minutes until the sauce thickens
- Remove the pan from the heat
- Cut the beef into thin strips, sprinkle with cornstarch and leave to rest for about 10 minutes
- Heat a cup of oil in a pan or wok and sear the meat for about 2 minutes
- Skim off the meat with a sieve spoon and degrease on kitchen paper and dispose of the oil from the pan
- Put the pan back on the stove and put the meat back in for about 1 minute
- Top up with the sauce and cook for another two minutes
- Now add the chopped spring onion
- Let cook for another minute and skim off the meat and onions using a sieve spoon.
- The sauce is served separately
- We like it best with simple steamed rice
