Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 40 g yeast
  • 250 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 125 g butter or margarine
  • 150 g raisins
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

Sift flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Dissolve yeast in 125 ml of lukewarm milk and pour into the well. Mix with a little flour and let rise in a warm place for about 10-15 minutes. Dissolve butter in the remaining (slightly warmed) milk and add to the dough. Add the raisins, cardamom, and eggs to the dough, knead thoroughly, and let rise again in a warm place until the dough has roughly doubled in size. Using a tablespoon, place small portions onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper, flatten slightly, and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C, gas mark 3, fan oven 165°C, for about 15-20 minutes.
