But it is also possible to roast peanuts in the oven. However, this takes about half an hour. We explain step by step how to proceed for both methods – and how to season the snack sweetly or salty.
Roasting peanuts in a pan: Here’s how
This snack makes every TV night complete. And you can easily roast peanuts yourself. With it you can conjure up healthy snacks according to your taste and have the choice between sweet or salty. All you need is a pan or oven, moderate heat, and aromatic spices. For the fastest way to roast peanuts, you can use a pan. Important: Always use blanched, peeled specimens. Roasting peanuts in their shells takes much longer.
And this is how you proceed:
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
- Put the nuts in the pan. For even heat distribution, they must be next to each other.
- Heat the natural product for about ten minutes, turning it frequently – or until the goods are brown all over and exude an intense fragrance.
- Remove the peanuts from the pan immediately to prevent them from roasting and burning.
Recipe for roasting peanuts in the oven: step by step
Roasting peanuts in the oven takes longer. However, this minimizes the risk of burning. And this is how you work:
- Preheat the oven to 150 degrees.
- Place the side of the peanut by side on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Place the tray in the center of the oven and bake the nuts until golden, about 50 minutes to an hour.
- Immediately remove the finished nuts from the tray.

Roast and season peanuts yourself – sweet and salty ideas
A roasted peanut tastes both sweet and savory. In any case, flavor the product while it is still hot. This is the best way for it to absorb the selected spices.
Among the savory options, roasting peanuts and salting is the absolute classic. Spices such as chili, cayenne pepper, or paprika powder also taste delicious on the legume. It gets Asian with wasabi powder or sesame.
Sweet options, on the other hand, include cinnamon and sugar in all forms. Like vanilla or orange sugar. For the Advent season, take a pinch of gingerbread or speculoos spice.
