How Healthy is Vinegar? This is How the Home Remedy Works

Vinegar is considered an all-rounder in household matters and is also healthy for the body. Read here how the home remedy works and how best to use it.

Vinegar has this healthy effect on the body

Vinegar is also considered an all-rounder in medicine. Already in the Middle Ages it was used to clean wounds and to fight the plague.

  • There are many different types of vinegar. In addition to apple cider vinegar, there are, for example, fruit vinegar, brandy vinegar, balsamic vinegar or rice vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is considered to be particularly effective and is the most commonly used when it comes to health.
  • Vinegar has an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing effect. This promotes a healthy intestinal flora, as harmful bacteria are killed by consumption. Vinegar is also said to help with a bladder infection.
  • Vinegar boosts the immune system and can help keep cholesterol levels low. It is also said to have a positive effect on blood sugar levels and can therefore be used in the treatment of diabetes.
  • Vinegar can also help the body lose weight. The home remedy promotes fat burning and suppresses appetite.
  • Applied externally, vinegar is said to help against nail fungus, pimples and skin warts.

How to apply vinegar

Vinegar can be used both internally and externally.

  • It is highly recommended to drink some apple cider vinegar with a large glass of water every morning. Mix two tablespoons of vinegar with water and some honey. The sweetness of the honey softens the taste.
  • Vinegar can also be used as an oral hygiene rinse. To do this, mix about half a teaspoon of vinegar with water and rinse your mouth vigorously with it for about a minute. Due to the antibacterial effect, this can help with inflammation and bad breath.
  • Since vinegar has a disinfecting effect, it can also be used for small external injuries. Simply apply some of the vinegar to the wound. Vinegar can also help relieve itching from mosquito bites.
  • Since vinegar is also said to help against pimples, you can use it as a face tonic. Mix a teaspoon of vinegar with some warm water and apply the mixture to your face with a cotton pad.
  • Vinegar works particularly well against sweaty feet or athlete’s foot. A footbath is recommended.
