How long does savoy have to cook?
Savoy cabbage is a healthy vegetable that tastes particularly good with pasta dishes, for example. So that it is not too hard when served, but also not overcooked, you should note the following:
- If you only roughly chop the savoy cabbage, it should be boiled in lightly salted water for between eight and ten minutes.
- If you cut the savoy cabbage into small pieces or strips, five to eight minutes are usually enough.
- It is important to know when the savoy was harvested. If it was picked in summer, it usually needs a little less time in the cooking pot than vegetables that were harvested in winter.
- When cooking, try regularly to see if the savoy is already done. This works well if you pierce it with a fork, for example.
- When it’s done, it’s best to take it out of the water right away so that it doesn’t lose any vitamins.
- By the way, the savoy cabbage tastes particularly good when you pour some melted butter over it.
