How Long Has Coca Cola Been Around? The Most Important Thing About The Story

Coca-Cola – a success story

As early as 1886, a pharmacist named John Stith Pemberton developed the recipe for the precursor to the drink that is now known around the world as Coca-Cola. It was actually intended as a stimulant.

  • The shower carries the name Coca-Cola for just as long as the distinctive red and white lettering. By the way, the name of the font is “Spencer”.
  • After just two years, in 1888, Pemberton sold the rights to Coca-Cola to entrepreneur Asa G. Candler. The price of 2,300 US dollars sounds like a real bargain.
  • Candler made Coca-Cola a brand: he filled the soft drink in bottles and also issued bottling licenses to better organize distribution. In 1892 he finally founded The Coca-Cola Company.
  • Prohibition supported the success of Coca Cola and by the beginning of the 20th century, the drink was also conquering Europe and later the rest of the world.
  • Incidentally, it was not at all surprising that Coca-Cola was such a huge success so quickly. The drink actually used to contain cocaine – and quite a bit. It was not until 1904 that the recipe was changed so that although coca leaves were still used for production, the narcotic substances were filtered out beforehand.

  • In the meantime, probably every child knows the global brand Coca-Cola. In addition, the soft drink is often misused: cleaning with cola is not uncommon. Cola as a self-tanner, on the other hand, is not recommended.
