How to Make Apple Juice

Homemade apple juice recipe

A self-made apple juice naturally cloudy without a juicer is easier than you think. In each bottle you have a supply of many vitamins.

Ingredients

  • 2 kg Apples
  • 1 L Water
  • 1 tbsp Honey (or granulated sugar)
  • 0.5 Lemon (squeezed)

Preparation

  1. Wash and peel the apples, removing any brown dents or spots. Also remove the core, then cut into small pieces.
  2. Put the apple pieces in a saucepan and cover with the water. Simmer on a low flame for 20 minutes. Then puree.
  3. Then hang a fine sieve over another pot and pour the cooked apple juice into the pot via the sieve. Leftovers or coarse pieces should get caught in the sieve.
  4. Now season the juice with sugar or honey and, if necessary, with lemon juice. Then cook for another 15 to 20 minutes. Skim off any foam on the surface.
  5. Stir vigorously and then fill the juice into the bottles. Close tightly and store in a cool, dark place for a few days.

Recipe Tips

If the mixture is too thick when cooking, add water. A preserving aid can also be used, then the apple juice will keep tightly closed for 5-6 months. Seal the bottles airtight to prevent mold from forming. Once the bottle is opened use it up quickly.
