Preserve homemade apple juice
After you have made your apple juice, it can be kept in the refrigerator for a good three days. But this time is often not enough to drink all the juice. Therefore, you should preserve the apple juice immediately after production:
- First wash the glass bottles thoroughly with hot water. Then fill the bottles with hot water or place the bottles in hot water.
- Put the squeezed juice from the apple press or the juicer in a saucepan and heat it to around 90 degrees. Remove the pot from the heat before boiling, otherwise you will destroy the vitamins.
- Then empty the glass bottles and pour the apple juice into the still hot bottles up to just below the cap.
- After that, close the bottles tightly and turn them upside down.
- After the apple juice bottles have cooled down, check again whether all bottles are airtight.
- Finally, store your apple juice in a cool, dark room. A pantry in the basement is usually a good choice.
Preserve apple juice from the steam juicer
For juice from the steam juicer, the procedure is almost identical:
- However, with the apple juice from the juicer, there is no need to heat the apple juice. Otherwise, pour the juice into the hot bottles in the same way, close them tightly and then turn them upside down.
- Just like with cold-pressed apple juice, you can store your juice for a relatively long time. Apple juice will keep for a few months in airtight bottles in a cool, dark room.
