Peeling mangoes is not that difficult with the right trick. You have to decide which tactic is the easiest to remove the fruit from the skin. We present a few tips on how to get the skin off the mango.
Peel the mango – that’s how it works
As long as the skin of the mango is still relatively hard, it is easy to peel. A sharp kitchen knife or a vegetable peeler are well suited for this.
- In the center of the mango is a relatively bulky core. For this reason, first, divide the mango into three parts. To do this, cut off the left and right sides just before the core.
- To slice the mango, place the exotic fruit straight on a board.
- Peel the two mango pieces. The centerpiece is usually not worth peeling. Use a spoon or knife to scrape off the pulp that is stuck to the pit.
Mango skin removal trick
This variant of peeling a mango is also particularly suitable when the peel is still relatively firm.
- Stand the mango upright and hold the fruit with one hand. Using a sharp knife, cut a large cross into the top of the shell.
- Then slowly pull down the four shell pieces one after the other.
- If the peel is still too tight on the fruit, cut the four pieces in half again.
