Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 3 bell peppers
- 2 onions
- 500 g pork strips
- Clarified butter or oil for frying
- 500 ml vegetable stock
- 1 small jar of Ajvar
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp lemon thyme
- 3 tsp paprika powder, hot
- 3 tsp sweet paprika powder
- 200 g tomatoes
- 3 garlic cloves
- e.g. salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Peel and chop the peppers and onions. Brown them with the meat in clarified butter, ideally. Oil will also work, of course. Combine with vegetable stock, ajvar, bay leaves, and spices. Simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes, then reduce. In the meantime, quarter the tomatoes and peel the garlic. After the cooking time, add the tomatoes and crush the garlic. Simmer for another 5 minutes and season with salt and pepper. Pasta is delicious with this dish.
