Peel and halve the onion. Then slice the onion and mushrooms. Fry both in a pan with a little oil and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Once everything is well browned, deglaze with a splash of red wine. Add the malt beer, cream, and vegetable stock and let it reduce. Reduce the heat and stir in the cream cheese and 2 teaspoons of cranberries. Season with rosemary and season to taste. Thicken the sauce with a little more flour and butter, if desired. This sauce goes well with schnitzels or meatballs.
