Iced malt drink strawberry soup

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 kg strawberries
  • 200 ml malt drink
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • e.g. vanilla ice cream
  • e.g. powdered sugar
  • possibly mint

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

Wash, hull, and chop the strawberries. Bring 150 ml of malt drink to a boil with the strawberries and sugar. Simmer for about 5 minutes. Mix the cornstarch with about 50 ml of malt drink and add. Mix everything well and bring to a boil briefly. Ladle the strawberry soup into bowls, let it cool briefly, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or longer if desired. Serve with a little powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream, and a sprig of mint, if desired.
