Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 200 g basmati
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 3 cardamom pods, green
  • 1 chili pepper(s), green, finely chopped
  • 5 tbsp dill, fresh, finely chopped
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp ghee

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Sooaa Chawal

Wash the rice and soak it in water for about 15 minutes, then drain well. Heat the oil in a pan, fry the cardamom and chili for about 1 minute. Now add the dill and salt and fry everything for about 2 minutes. Then add the rice, fry it for another minute, and pour in about 300 ml of water. Cook the rice until tender, then stir in 1 teaspoon of ghee.
