Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g basmati rice
  • 1 large onion(s), red
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 5 cardamom pods
  • 5 carnations
  • 2 tbsp ghee or vegetable oil
  • Salt
  • 500 ml water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Heat the ghee or vegetable oil in a pan. Fry the finely sliced ​​onions until golden brown. Add the cinnamon stick, slit cardamom pods, and cloves, and sauté briefly. Add the washed rice and deglaze with the water. Add salt to taste. Bring to a boil briefly, then cover and simmer for about 15 minutes. Remove the lid and pan from the heat, and let it cool for 10 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick and fluff the rice with a fork before serving. 265 kcal per serving.
