Kohlrabi – that’s how healthy it is
You can hardly go wrong when eating vegetables. Some vegetables, such as beans, should not be eaten raw. Other vegetables, such as carrots, are better cooked so that the body can better utilize the vitamins, such as provitamin A, also known as beta-carotene.
- Basically, it is only important that you eat vegetables that contain as few harmful substances as possible. Even the vegetables that don’t contain quite as many nutrients are still healthy. Of course, this also applies to the kohlrabi, which is part of the vegetable cabbage.
- The kohlrabi, which belongs to the vegetable cabbage, is even one of the particularly healthy types of vegetables. Of course, the following also applies to kohlrabi: the fresher the vegetables are prepared, the more vitamins they contain. Preferably fresh from the garden, right on the table.
- Just like carrots, kohlrabi also contains beta-carotene and folic acid. It also has vitamins B1, B2, and B6 as well as vitamin C and vitamin E.
- Important minerals can also be found in kohlrabi. These include calcium and potassium as well as sodium, selenium, magnesium, iron as well as phosphate, and zinc.
