lightning-fast basic recipe from the microwave

Rinse the potatoes and place them in a freezer bag while still wet. Seal the bag with string. (Do not use the clips provided, as they contain metal.) Using a fork or a sharp object, poke several small holes in the bag. Then place them on the microwave’s turntable uncovered and cook at 750 watts for about 5-6 minutes. Remove carefully, as the bag will be very hot. I always test for doneness; it depends on the size of the potatoes; if necessary, cook them briefly again. Serve with herb curd, herring, etc. as a side dish, as desired. Tip from the comments if you don’t want to use a freezer bag: A microwave-safe container with a lid or a deep plate with a shallow plate placed on top, plus 1 tablespoon of water – this also works.
