Potatoes with sesame crust

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes, new
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, roasted
  • 1 tsp salt, coarse
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ½ tsp pepper, coarsely ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Wash the unpeeled potatoes and simmer in salted water for 15 minutes until almost tender. Preheat the oven grill (or top heat) to 200°C. Rinse the potatoes briefly in cold water and cut them in half lengthwise. Mix the salt, sesame seeds, and pepper on a flat plate. Brush the cut sides of the potatoes with egg yolk, press them into the mixture, and place them cut-side down on a baking sheet. Brush the tops with oil and bake for 10 minutes on the top rack of the oven until crispy and brown. Serve with some ham of your choice and a fresh salad (dressed with vinegar and oil).
