Delicious sponge cake with cherries and sunken cookie dough

First, prepare the cookie dough, which you then refrigerate. To do this, cream together the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar until creamy, then add the egg and a pinch of salt. Then stir in the flour and baking powder mixture, and finally, add the finely chopped chocolate. Now you can drain the morello cherries in a sieve and preheat the oven to 180°C. Now it’s time to make the batter: Again, cream together the butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla sugar until creamy. In a second bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt. Mix the egg and butter mixture together. Then alternately stir in the milk and the mixture of cornstarch, flour, and baking powder into the batter. Spread the finished batter onto a prepared baking sheet with high sides (approx. 39 cm x 25 cm). Then scatter the cherries and, in small pieces, the cookie dough on top. Bake the cake in the hot oven for about 25-30 minutes.
