Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 100 g long grain rice
- 180 g water
- 10 g coconut milk, creamy
- 3 g instant chicken broth
- 1 pinch of cardamom powder
- 3 tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp chili powder (chipotle)
- 8 small onions, red
- 1 cinnamon stick(s)
- 1 pinch(s) white sugar
- 2 tbsp palm oil, premium quality
- n. B. flowers and leaves
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 47 minutes

Cut off both ends of the onions, peel them, and use them whole. Bring the rice and water to a boil, add all the ingredients, and stir in. Cover and simmer over low heat. Stir occasionally to prevent burning. Once the water has been absorbed, turn off the heat and let the rice rest for another 30 minutes. Fluff the rice with a spoon and serve with side dishes. Note: Rice or noodles are generally the main course in Indonesia. Everything else is a side dish, including the crayfish and tuna.
