simple and delicious, for 12 nests

For the dough nests, put the butter in a saucepan and melt. Tear or pluck the kadayif (dough strands) apart. Mix the kadayif with the powdered sugar and butter well in a deep bowl or casserole dish. Divide the mixture evenly into the holes in a muffin tin and shape into nests. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 10-15 minutes. For the pudding, add the milk, flour, cornstarch and sugar to the saucepan. Whisk everything together while it’s still cold. As soon as the milk is lump-free, turn on the stove and cook the pudding. As soon as the pudding becomes thick and bubbles, it’s ready. Turn off the stove and add the butter and vanilla sugar and stir until the butter has combined with the mixture. Carefully remove the cooled kadayif nests from the muffin tin using a fork. Place the nests on a serving platter and use two teaspoons to spoon the pudding into each nest. Serve with fresh fruit of your choice as a topping.
