Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g puff pastry (frozen)
  • 125 g butter
  • 250 g walnuts, chopped
  • 75 g pistachios
  • 75 g ground almonds
  • 1 jar honey (250 g)
  • 3 tbsp orange juice
  • ½ lemon(s), the juice
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 1 hour 30 minutes

Nut-honey slices

Thaw the puff pastry according to the package instructions. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line the bottom of a baking dish with aluminum foil. Grease the sides and the aluminum foil thoroughly. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Roll out the puff pastry sheets thinly to twice the size of the dish and cut them in half. Chop the pistachios and toss them with the almonds and nuts. Place one sheet of pastry in the dish and brush with the melted butter. Then sprinkle with the nut mixture. Repeat this process until all the pastry sheets are used. Important: You end up with just one sheet of pastry! Bake the pastry in the oven for 15 minutes on the lowest rack, then for 30 minutes on the middle rack until golden brown. Meanwhile, warm the honey and season with the orange and lemon juice. Pour the syrup over the finished baklava and let it sit overnight. Cut the baklava into small squares and serve. In Turkey, this sweet is served with Turkish tea or mocha.
