Kaiser rice with sour cherries and cream

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • ½ liter of milk
  • 125 g rice pudding
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 jar sour cherries

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 4 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 4 hours 55 minutes

Melt the butter in a large saucepan. Briefly sweat the rice pudding in it. Add the milk, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring with a wooden spoon. Make sure nothing settles on the bottom. Place the pan on a second hob ring preheated to level 1. Cook the rice for 30 minutes. Stir once after 15 minutes. Allow the rice pudding to cool. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form and fold into the cooled rice pudding. Drain the sour cherries. Place the first half of the rice pudding in a bowl. Distribute the sour cherries on top and add the rest of the rice pudding to the bowl. The Kaiser rice can be served immediately or refrigerated until ready to serve.
