Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 750 g kale, frozen
- 100 g onion(s), diced
- 100 g bacon, diced
- 50 g lard (greaves)
- 2 tbsp mustard, medium hot
- 250 g potatoes, diced
- 750 ml meat broth
- salt and pepper
- Sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Sauté the onions and bacon in the lard and pour in the broth. Add the kale and heat briefly. Add the diced potatoes, season with salt, pepper, and mustard, and cook over medium heat for about 15-20 minutes until tender. Tip: Heat smoked Mettwurst sausages in the kale during the last 10 minutes to give the dish a traditional, savory flavor.
