Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 200 ml cream
- 250 ml milk
- 120 g sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 vanilla pod(s)
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 55 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 1 hour
Scrape out the vanilla pod. Mix the sugar with the egg yolk and vanilla seeds. Heat the milk with the scraped vanilla pod, whisking in the egg yolk and sugar mixture. Before the milk boils, remove the pan from the heat and continue stirring until the mixture becomes creamy. Remove the vanilla pod and let it cool. When the mixture is cold, fold in the semi-whipped cream. Then transfer everything to the ice cream maker for 40 minutes. It tastes best fresh, of course.
