Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 small onion(s)
- 1 clove(s) garlic
- 200 ml milk
- 250 g bread roll(s), diced
- 2 eggs
- 100 g cheese, beer cheese and/or grey cheese
- salt and pepper
- Parsley
- Marjoram, freshly chopped
- Clarified butter
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Sauté in a little butter. Pour in the milk and add to the bread cubes. Add the eggs, spices, and cheese and mix well. Let stand for about 20 minutes. Then form small dumplings, flatten them, and fry them in hot clarified butter until crispy brown. Traditionally served in beef broth sprinkled with plenty of fresh chives.
