Kasseler Carrot Stew

The perfect kasseler carrot stew recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Kassel minute steaks
  • 500 g Carrots
  • 500 g Potatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 tbsp Freshly chopped chives
  • 1 glass White wine
  • 1 a cup Cream
  • 1 Laurel leaves
  • 500 ml. Vegetable broth
  • Clarified butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Nutmeg
  • Food starch
  1. Peel and dice the onion, dice the meat and fry everything in the clarified butter.
  2. Peel and dice the potatoes, clean the carrots and slice them, add to the meat, sauté briefly and deglaze with the vegetable stock and wine.
  3. Add the chives and bay leaf.
  4. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg and simmer for approx. 20 minutes
  5. Add the cream and cornstarch, bring to the boil for another 2 minutes and serve.
