Kasseler in Bed of Vegetables

The perfect kasseler in bed of vegetables recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Kassel roast salmon
  • Salt and pepper
  • 8 Fresh shallots
  • 400 g Small potatoes
  • 1 Pc. Fennel bulb
  • 1 Pink Lady apple
  • 1 tbsp Apple jelly
  • 1 tbsp Chopped rosemary
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  1. Wash smoked pork, pat dry and season with pepper. Brush a pan with oil and put the smoked pork in it. Peel shallots, cut in half and spread around the smoked pork. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into pieces, season with salt and pepper. Fry the smoked pork in the oven for about 40 minutes. After about 10 minutes, add about 50ml of water and place the potatoes in the dripping pan. Wash the fennel, cut out the stalk and cut the fennel into strips. Wash, quarter and core apples, cut into wedges. Fennel and apple 10 min. Mix the potatoes and the jelly before the end of the cooking time. Mix the jelly with about 50ml water and pour over the vegetables. Season with salt and pepper.
