Keeping radishes fresh – Here’s how
To keep radishes fresh, you can do the following two things.
- First, remove the leaves from the radishes so that no more water is lost through them. Then wash the radishes again.
- Then wrap the radishes in a wet kitchen towel and store them in the fridge. Alternatively, you can use a freezer bag. This should then be dry.
How to recognize fresh radishes
With the following tips, you can tell right from the start whether radishes are still fresh and suitable for storage.
- You can always tell fresh radishes by their leaves. If these are still green and juicy, the radish is still fresh. But if they are wilted or already hanging, it is better to keep your hands off them.
- The radishes must be pressure-resistant and not yet show any cracks. If this is the case, you can assume that they are no longer fresh.
