Kefta Kebabs

The perfect kefta kebabs recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Lamb or ground beef, or both
  • 1 small Chopped onion
  • 2 tbsp Flat leaf parsley finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Finely chopped coriander greens
  • 1 tbsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Sweet or hot paprika powder
  • 1 pinch Chilli (cayenne pepper)
  • Black pepper from the mill
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  1. Put the minced meat in a bowl and mix thoroughly with the remaining ingredients, except for the lemon wedges, and let it steep for a moment.
  1. Divide the mince into 8 portions and shape each chop into a 9 cm long sausage with wet hands.
  1. Pierce each minced meat sausage on a metal skewer and cover it with aluminum foil or cling film and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  1. Cook on a charcoal or electric grill over high heat, turning frequently so that it browns evenly. Grill the kebabs for about 10 minutes, until they are just cooked and feel firm when pressed with the grill tongs.
  1. Serve the kebabs with lemon wedges, a fresh flatbread and a salad of your choice.
