Kohlrabi and potato gratin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g kohlrabi
  • 800 g potatoes
  • 250 g onion(s)
  • 200 g sour cream
  • 50 ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp, leveled mustard
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 2 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 4 tbsp cheese, grated
  • oil
  • Pepper, white
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the kohlrabi, potatoes, and onions. Wash the potatoes. Thinly slice the vegetables. Heat oil in a pan. Sauté the vegetables until golden brown. Season generously with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Grease a large casserole dish and add the vegetables. Whisk together the sour cream, milk, and eggs. Stir in the mustard, paprika, and parsley. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Pour the mixture evenly over the vegetables. Mix the breadcrumbs and cheese and sprinkle over the vegetables. Bake for 45-50 minutes in a preheated oven at 160°C (convection oven).
