Kumquat Cocktail with Cachaca and Curacao

For the Brazilian-inspired kumquat cocktails you need: 250 g kumquats, 160 ml lime juice, 8 tablespoons cane sugar syrup, 240 ml cachaca (sugar cane schnapps), 160 ml Triple Sec Curacao liqueur, ice cubes, mint and lime slices.

  1. Wash the kumquats well and cut them into slices.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine the cachaca, liqueur, lime juice, and syrup and mix well.
  3. Pour 80ml of the cocktail into a tall glass, add the kumquats and garnish with mint and lime.

Kumquat Cocktail with Bacardi

For this quick appetizer with kumquats you need per drink: 8 kumquats, 3 teaspoons brown sugar, 40 ml Bacardi, and crushed ice.

  1. Wash, dry, and quarter the kumquats.
  2. Place the dwarf oranges in a tall cocktail glass, add the sugar and crush with a wooden pestle.
  3. Add some crushed ice and pour the Bacardi into the glass.

Bombay Crushed

These are the ingredients for the Bombay Crushed Cocktail: 5 kumquats, 5 cl gin, 1 lime, 3 teaspoons of cane sugar, and crushed ice.

  1. Wash and dry the kumquats and place the dwarf oranges whole in a caipirinha glass.
  2. Add the sugar and the juice of one lime and crush with a pestle.
  3. Fill the glass up to about 1/3 below the rim with crushed ice and pour in the gin.
  4. If you like, you can add more ice or decorate the glass with a slice of kumquat.
