Lasagna with cottage cheese

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 small onion(s), finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, squeezed
  • 100 ml red wine
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • 200 g cottage cheese
  • 300 g double cream cheese
  • 10 lasagna sheets
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 cup(s) Emmental cheese, grated
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 can tomatoes, peeled
  • 300g Gouda

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 55 minutes

Brown the minced meat with the finely chopped onion, salt, pepper, and thyme in a little oil. Add the crushed garlic, then deglaze with the wine and reduce slightly. Then add the tomatoes and sugar and reduce again slightly. For the cheese sauce, mix the cottage cheese, grated Emmental, and double cream cheese with the egg. Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius (375 degrees Fahrenheit). Spread a tablespoon of the minced meat sauce in a deep casserole dish. Divide the lasagna sheets and the minced meat sauce into three layers. First, layer the sheets on top of the minced meat sauce in the dish, then one-third of the minced meat sauce, grated Gouda, and then half of the cheese sauce. Then layer more lasagna sheets, minced meat, grated Gouda, and the rest of the cheese sauce. Finally, layer the lasagna sheets, the rest of the minced meat sauce, and Gouda. Cover with aluminum foil and place in the oven for 30 minutes. Then remove the aluminum foil and finish cooking for another 20 minutes.
