Herring under the coat – Russian fish salad

First, boil the eggs until hard-boiled and let cool. Peel the potatoes and carrots, cook them until tender, and let cool. Then grate both or cut them into small strips. Peel the onion and dice them. Dice the beets (I bought them already cooked, otherwise they would also cook them), as well as the apple and fish. Mix the mayonnaise with the yogurt and season with salt and pepper. Separate the eggs so that the yolks and whites can be diced separately. Layer them as follows: Start with the potatoes. Add mayonnaise, fish, mayonnaise, carrots, apple, mayonnaise, beetroot, fish, mayonnaise – then add the eggs on top. Let it sit for a while and serve. Tip: You can layer them however you like. You can also use yogurt instead of mayonnaise. I layered this salad in small bowls. In Russia, it goes on one plate.
