Russian herring salad

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g herring
  • 1 ½ jar salad cream (Miracel Whip)
  • 8 m.-large beetroot, fresh
  • 6 m.-sized potatoes, waxy
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 onion(s), red
  • 100 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

With beetroot

First, boil the potatoes and eggs until hard-boiled and allow to cool. Then, dice the herring, 6 beetroots, the potato, onion, and 4 eggs. Use a separate bowl for each ingredient; do not mix everything after it has been chopped. Now start layering in a bowl or on a plate. First, add a layer of potatoes, then Miracle Whip, onion, Miracle Whip, beetroot, Miracle Whip, herring, Miracle Whip, eggs, Miracle Whip, beetroot. Continue in this order until all the ingredients are used up. Place a thin layer of Miracle Whip between each layer. Finally, sprinkle the grated cheese on top and decorate with the remaining 2 eggs and the remaining beetroot.
