Leberkäse with onion topping

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 6 slices of Leberkäse
  • 400 g onion(s)
  • 1 can of mushrooms, approx. 400 – 500 g
  • 300 ml cream
  • 250 ml broth, clear
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp, leveled flour
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

suitable for parties

Drain the mushrooms and chop them into smaller pieces, depending on the variety. Peel the onions and chop them roughly. Fry the onions in a little butter until crispy and season with salt and pepper. Dust with flour and deglaze with the broth. Place the Leberkäse in a baking dish, scatter the mushrooms on top, and then top with the fried onions. Finally, pour over the cream. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and bake the Leberkäse for 30 minutes using a fan-assisted oven. I allow two pieces of Leberkäse per person, but one might be enough, depending on what side dishes you’re serving. If you need a bit more sauce, simply add a little more cream or broth to taste.
