Leek vegetables with cream

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 stalk(s) leeks, large
  • 2 medium-sized onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 4 dl cream
  • some salt
  • some pepper, white

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Heat butter in a pan, add onions and sauté briefly. Add the leek, halved, washed, and cut into 2cm strips, and continue sautéing. Add a little salt so the leek draws water. Sauté until there is only a little water left in the pan. Dust with flour, mix well, and slowly pour in the cream. Simmer gently for another 10 to 15 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Goes very well with boiled meat as a vegetable side dish, or with fried fish. A little garlic can also be added if desired.
