Leek wrapped in ham

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 stalk(s) leeks
  • 4 slices of cooked ham
  • Mustard
  • 2 corners of cream cheese
  • 30 g cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp vegetable stock powder
  • some milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

Trim the green parts of the leeks and boil the stalks in salted water for about 15 minutes. Collect the cooking water afterward. Brush the ham with mustard and then wrap it around the leeks. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the flour, and sauté briefly until translucent. Gradually add the stock and milk mixed with the cooking water. The sauce should remain thick. Add the cheese wedges and let it melt. Add salt, pepper, nutmeg, and more granulated stock, if desired. Place the leeks in a baking dish. Pour the sauce over them and scatter the grated cheese on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (convection oven) for about 15-20 minutes on the middle rack. Serve with potatoes.
