Lemon Poppy Seed Bundt Cake

The perfect lemon poppy seed bundt cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 125 g Soft butter
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 0,5 Lemon untreated
  • 125 g Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 20 g Ground poppy seeds
  • 50 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp Water
  • 8 Chocolate decor hearts
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (convection 160 degrees). Use the whisk of the hand mixer to stir butter, sugar and 1 pinch of salt for 8-10 minutes until light creamy. Stir in eggs one after the other. Finely rub off the peel of a 1/2 lemon Squeeze 2 tablespoons of juice from the lemon.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, poppy seeds and lemon zest. Mix the flour mixture and lemon juice into the batter alternately.
  3. Grease a bundt pan (16 cm in diameter) with a little butter. Fill in the dough and bake in the hot oven in the lower third of the oven on a wire rack for about 50 minutes.
  4. Mix the icing sugar and water until smooth and brush the cake with it. Immediately place the chocolate hearts on top.
