Lentil and barley soup

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 liter chicken broth
  • ¼ stalk(s) leek
  • 125 ml lentils
  • 4 tbsp pearl barley
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Bring the chicken broth to a boil in a saucepan. Simmer the lentils for 10 minutes. Then add the pearl barley and simmer for another 5 minutes. Meanwhile, slice the leek into rings and cook in the hot broth until soft. Season with salt and serve warm.
