Lightning-fast asparagus tips from the pan with potatoes

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 kg of best quality asparagus tips or thick, whole asparagus for cutting
  • 2 m.-large potato(s), new
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Wash the asparagus and potatoes, peel them generously, and cut into bite-sized pieces. Heat the butter in a sufficiently large pan until softened. Stir in half a teaspoon of sugar and let it melt. Add the asparagus and the diced or wedged potatoes. Briefly fry both until lightly browned, then immediately reduce the heat to low, season with salt, and simmer with the lid on for about 15 minutes. Serve with raw ham.
