Lilac Jelly

The perfect lilac jelly recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 liter Lilac flowers
  • 1,5 liter Water
  • 2 packet Preserving sugar 2: 1
  • 1 piece Lemon (organic)
  1. Pluck lilac blossoms and remove all greenery. Measure out 1 liter of flowers with a measuring cup. And pour it into a large teapot or saucepan.
  2. Wash the lemon, cut into slices and add to the petals. Boil the water and pour over the lilac flowers. It is best to let it stand overnight, but at least 3 hours.
  3. Pour off the liquid, squeeze out the lilac blossoms and lemons and add the preserving sugar to the liquid. Bring the whole thing to the boil while stirring and pour into jam jars if the gelling test fits.
