Lime Mushrooms – Delicious Edible Mushrooms

The lime mushroom is a relative of the oyster mushroom. It owes its name to its intense colour. Mushroom grows in dense clusters, the cap is funnel-shaped, 2-5 cm wide, the stem is short, smooth, and dried light yellow.

Origin

Traditionally, the mushroom is grown in East Asia, Taiwan, USA, and today also in Europe.

Season

Available all year round.

Taste

The lime mushroom is characterized by its light, fruity and slightly sour aroma.

Use

Raw it is a true delicacy and in combination with a dash of lemon juice, the lemon mushroom is a real treat for the eye and the palate in many Mediterranean dishes. Storage

Wrap the lemon mushrooms in a damp cloth and store in a cool place. It keeps like this for 4-5 days.
