- 8 lemon(s) (organic lemons), the thinly peeled peel
- 500 ml alcohol (ethanol, 90%)
- 750 ml water
- 300 g sugar

Lemon liqueur
With organic lemons, the peel is safe to eat. Finely chopped peels of organic lemons are also used to make the famous Sicilian lemon liqueur “Limonello.” First, soak the peels of the organic lemons in the alcohol for ten days. Stir them thoroughly once a day. Then, mix the mixture with the water and sugar. The lemon liqueur now needs to steep for another one to two weeks. It should be stored and served cold.
