Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g chestnuts
- 2 tsp butter
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 2 tsp pear(s) – cabbage / spread
- Salt
- Black pepper, freshly ground
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
as a side dish or salad topping
Score the chestnuts crosswise and place them in a pot with cold water to just cover. Simmer for 4 minutes, starting at a boil. Drain and peel. Melt the butter, olive oil, and pear syrup in a pan and simmer gently. Season with salt and pepper, and add the whole or halved chestnuts. Briefly brown the chestnuts and serve. Delicious as a side dish to a meat dish or as a salad topping.
