Lorraine Brie – Apples

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 m.-sized apples, sour
  • 200 g cheese (French Brie)
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tbsp cream
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp white wine
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • some salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cut a top off the stem end of the apples, remove the core and some of the flesh. Brush the insides of the apples with lemon juice. Dice the flesh and drizzle with lemon juice. Finely dice the cheese, mix with the flesh, and stuff the apples. Preheat oven to 180°C. Whisk the eggs with cream and milk. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Slowly pour over the apple filling. Dissolve the sugar in the wine and brush the apples with it. Place in a buttered dish and bake in the oven for about 15 minutes.
