Low-calorie cooked cheese

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 ml whole milk
  • 200 g Harzer cheese, Handkäse or Quargel without noble mold
  • 1 tsp, leveled salt
  • 1 tsp, leveled caraway seeds

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the Harzer cheese into slices and add it to a nonstick pan with the milk, salt, and caraway seeds. Stir over medium heat until the cheese has completely melted into the milk, continuing to stir the mixture until just before boiling. Pour the still-melted cheese into a bowl. Once it has cooled, cover it with a lid or a lid, otherwise it will develop a leathery skin. I like the cooked cheese simply. If you prefer it creamier, you can use cream instead of milk. My mother also stirred in a knob of butter. Approx. 350 kcal per serving.
